inspirational schoolwide theme this year:
As we embark on a new school year, I am filled with excitement and hope for all that we will accomplish together. This year, we are embracing a powerful and inspiring theme: "Be The One!" This theme is not just a slogan; it's a call to action for each of us to make a positive difference in our school community and beyond.
Be The One to show kindness and compassion. Let’s be the ones who support our peers, uplift our community, and create an environment where everyone feels welcome and valued.
Be The One to pursue excellence. Whether it’s in academics, sports, the arts, or any other passion, strive to be the best version of yourself. Set high goals, work diligently, and never underestimate the impact of your dedication and hard work. Remember, excellence is not about being the best at everything, but about giving your best in everything you do.
Be The One to embrace diversity and inclusion. Our differences are what make us unique and beautiful. Let’s celebrate each other’s cultures, backgrounds, and perspectives and create a rich and vibrant school community where everyone feels they belong.
Be The One to lead with integrity. In every decision, big or small, choose to do what is right. Be a role model for your peers, showing honesty, courage, and responsibility. Leadership is not just about having a title; it’s about setting an example through your actions and making a positive impact on those around you.
Be The One to chase your dreams. This year, take the opportunities to explore new interests, challenge yourself, and step out of your comfort zone. Whether it’s trying a new hobby, joining a club, or taking on a new academic challenge, be fearless in your pursuit of growth and discovery.
As we navigate this school year together, remember that each of us has the power to make a difference. By choosing to Be The One, you are contributing to a culture of positivity, growth, and inclusivity. Background
Marci Keller has been in the education field since 1996 and has worked in the Pajaro Valley Unified School District since 1997. Ms. Keller received her Bachelor’s Degree and teaching credential from Fresno State University and her Masters in Educational Leadership from San Jose State University in 2013. She was an English teacher at Watsonville High School for sixteen years and then an Assistant Principal of extended learning at Edward A. Hall Middle School prior to embarking as principal of Diamond Technology Institute.
Ms. Keller met her husband, Sean, in 1998 and has been happily married since 2000 and has raised two sons. While at Watsonville High School, Ms. Keller taught theatre, speech and debate, and was the Engineering and Technology Academy lead. Her passion for the arts as well as science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education is equally matched.
While enjoying being principal of Diamond Technology Institute, Ms. Keller also loves spending time with her family, traveling and experiencing as much from life as possible. Ms. Keller states, “I absolutely love living in the Monterey Bay! Diamond Tech is an incredible school where the students, staff and parents team up to do what’s best for students. I am so excited to call this school my home.”

A medida que comenzamos un nuevo año escolar, me llena de emoción y esperanza todo lo que lograremos juntos. Este año, estamos introduciendo un tema poderoso e inspirador: ¡"Sé el Uno!" Este tema no es solo un tema; es un llamado a la acción para cada uno de nosotros para hacer una diferencia positiva en nuestra comunidad escolar y más allá.
Sér el Uno que muestra amabilidad y compasión. Seamos los que apoyan a nuestros compañeros, elevan nuestra comunidad y crean un ambiente en el que todos se sientan bienvenidos y valorados.
Sér el Uno que persigue la excelencia. Ya sea en lo académico, en deportes, en las artes o en cualquier otra pasión, esfuérzate por ser la mejor versión de ti mismo. Establece metas altas, trabaja diligentemente y nunca subestimes el impacto de tu dedicación y esfuerzo. Recuerda, la excelencia no se trata de ser el mejor en todo, sino de dar lo mejor de ti en todo lo que haces.
Sér el Uno que introduce la diversidad y la inclusión. Nuestras diferencias son lo que nos hace únicos y hermosos. Celebremos las culturas, orígenes y perspectivas de los demás y creemos una comunidad escolar rica y vibrante en la que todos sientan que pertenecen.

Antecedentes
Marci Keller ha estado en el campo de la educación desde 1996 y ha trabajado en el Distrito Escolar Unificado de Pajaro Valley desde 1997. La Sra. Keller recibió su licenciatura y su credencial de enseñanza de la Universidad Estatal de Fresno y su Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo de la Universidad Estatal de San José en 2013. Fue profesora de inglés en Watsonville High School durante dieciséis años y luego subdirectora de aprendizaje extendido en Edward A. Hall Middle School antes de convertirse en directora de Diamond Technology Institute. La Sra. Keller conoció a su esposo, Sean, en 1998 y ha estado felizmente casada desde 2000 y ha criado a dos hijos. Mientras estuvo en Watsonville High School, la Sra. Keller enseñó teatro, oratoria y debate, y fue directora de la Academia de Ingeniería y Tecnología. Su pasión por las artes, así como por la educación en ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería y matemáticas (STEM) es igualmente equiparable.
